Noodle in a Haystack, which opened in April 2022, serves a ramen tasting menu in the Inner Richmond. Married couple Yoko and Clint Tan started it as a pop-up nine years ago, and today, the menu features seasonally rotating dishes such as a summer tomato salad, a deviled ramen egg and yuzu shio ramen made with chicken broth simmered for 15 hours. Former San Francisco Chronicle food critic Soleil Ho once wrote that Noodle in a Haystack “will likely be the best ramen you’ve ever had” (the Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by Hearst but have separate newsrooms). The restaurant was also recently crowned one of Bon Appétit’s 24 Best New Restaurants of 2023. 

Prik Hom, which opened in February of this year, is a Thai restaurant on Geary Boulevard. The New York Times wrote that Michelin-trained chef Jim Suwanpanya and his sister Tanya Suwanpanya, who run the restaurant together, “deliver joyful Thai dishes that are amplified by an arsenal of seasonal abundance like local scallops kissed with chile jam and coconut cream, or grilled beef-wrap curry that unravels with a slow, slinky heat.” Prik Hom was also added to the California Michelin Guide earlier this year.
