The following student-athletes have been selected to The Washington Post’s 2023-24 All-Met team for boys’ hockey:

Reid Pehrkon, F, Jr., Landon

Accumulating 31 goals and 27 assists over 20 games, Pehrkon is widely recognized as one of the area’s most dominant players. The forward launched Landon to the top echelons of the most competitive leagues in the region, guiding the Bears to a repeat Interstate Athletic Conference title while challenging the best the Mid-Atlantic Prep Hockey League has to offer. His skill is matched by his quiet leadership in the locker room, where Pehrkon organized team-building events.

Tucker Forrest, G, Sr., Gonzaga

His 92.5 percent save rate anchored the Eagles’ success. Nowhere was his confidence under pressure more apparent than in their battle against St. John’s for the MAPHL title, where Forrest made more than 30 saves to secure the win.

Samuel Hosier, D, Jr., Wootton

Consistently the top-scoring defenseman in the Maryland Student Hockey League, he secured eight hat tricks and led a coordinated back line with impact plays and razor-sharp shooting precision.

Carter Johnson, F, Jr., St. John’s

Averaging more than two points per league game, his consistency under pressure and effort on the forecheck made him one of the most potent threats in the area for a team that won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship and was runner-up in the MAPHL.

Conner McCarthy, F, Sr., Georgetown Prep

An offensive jack-of-all-trades, McCarthy held together the Little Hoyas’ gritty top line. One of the top scorers in the MAPHL, he set himself apart with his ability to create scoring opportunities for teammates, pass with laser accuracy, set up rebounds and find a lane through the chaos in front of the net.

Noah Scheinerman, F, Sr., Langley

On a team that hasn’t lost in more than two years, he helped inject new energy as the leading scorer on the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League juggernaut. His fast, physical skating led to the Saxons’ third title in a row.

Kelly Thompson, D, Sr., St. John’s

Thompson used his size and experience to initiate powerful body checks and lead a deep roster. His ability to coordinate defensive strategy midgame helped secure eight shutouts for the Cadets.

Cameron Westlake, F, Sr., Centennial (Wolves)

With a sniper-like slap shot and a clean play style that kept him out of the penalty box, Westlake led the MSHL with 54 points. The constant pressure he applied often forced opposing defenses to alter their strategy.

A fixture in the NVSHL helming the undisputed champs and the most decorated team in the league, Keough found ways to help his players navigate the pressures of living up to the Saxons’ impressive record. He did it by focusing on the details, stressing the importance of every pass, rebound, shot and one-on-one duel. He led his team to its fourth title in six years and a whopping 34-game winning streak.
