FORT WORTH, Texas — For the first time in its 18-year history, the CrossFit Games are coming to Texas.

The four-day event takes place at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth Aug. 8-11. People from all over the world will compete to find out who is the fittest person on the planet.

The games are a four-day athletic competition where the athletes compete in various events that change each year, including swimming, one-rep max lifts, sled pushing, handstand walks and many others. 

“Fort Worth is a proven, easily accessible destination for high-profile events, and we’re excited to add to the growing number of sports and entertainment options at the state-of-the-art Dickies Arena,” said Don Faul, CEO of CrossFit. “The 2024 Games will be anchored at the facility, giving our fans, athletes, partners, and the incredibly strong Texas affiliate community new opportunities to have the experience of a lifetime. Love of sport is in the DNA of most Texans, and we can’t think of a more enthusiastic audience for the Games.”

While the event at Dickies is sold out, CrossFit Games events will be held at Farrington Field on Friday, Aug. 9, at 8 p.m. These events are free and open to the public and do not require a ticket to watch. 

The games begin at 6 p.m. and will air on ESPN 2 and ESPN+ and can be streamed on ESPN’s website.

The games will continue on Friday at 8 p.m., on Saturday at 1 p.m., and finish on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The competition schedule will be available in the CrossFit Games app and at Games.CrossFit.com. The schedule will be updated as events are released and are subject to change throughout the competition.
