The best Prime Day deals on espresso machines
Breville Espresso Machines
For years, Breville‘s espresso makers have outperformed most of the competition in our teams’ rigorous espresso machine product testing, and year after year at least a few best-selling models (including ones with user-friendly touchscreens) get deeply discounted for Prime Day. We’ve already seen discounts Breville’s mid-range models like the Barista Express, the Barista Touch Impress, and the Express Impress.
All of that said, if your goal is simply good espresso, our Test Kitchen director Chris Morocco recommendsBreville’s Bambino Plus for beginners and anyone on a budget—and at full retail price, it’s only $500. It doesn’t have a grinder, but that’s ok because, shhh, you can actually make better espresso with a good stand alone burr grinder anyway.
Breville consistently makes some of the best espresso machines, according to our rigorous testing, and are especially great for beginners. This particular semi-automatic espresso machine includes a built-in grinder and steam wand.
DEAL: Breville Barista Touch Espresso Machine
We’re telling you: If you lean more towards an automatic espresso machine but want to at least feel like you’ve learned to make your own espresso drink, now is the time to splurge on the Barista Touch. You can trust that nobody will be rolling their eyes at your hyper-specific coffee order–just choose from the many options for grind size, milk temperature, and brew time to make your perfect bev. There are also presets that allow you to make lattes, cappuccinos, and Americanos at the touch of a button. Easy.
The Duo Temp is about as basic as Breville machines get (we’re pretty sure new ones have actually been discontinued in the United States) but it’s still as reliable as any Breville machine. It uses a simple dial instead of the buttons of the fancier machines, but if you’re willing to go analog you can get this one for just $300 right now.
DEAL: Breville Infuser Espresso Machine
The Breville Infuser is essentially the Barista Express without the built-in grinder, and with a smaller footprint. If you would rather put the extra $35 towards some quality beans and don’t mind grinding your own, it’s a solid option. Contributor Belle Bakst gives this ringing endorsement: “My Breville machine is practically a member of my family, I depend on it everyday for coffee, lattes, and even hot water. It precisely measures the right amount of beans, grinds them, and creates the perfect shot (or two) of espresso. Not only does it make great espresso, but it also has a steam wand attachment for frothing milk so no need for a whole other tool.”

After Breville, the other big name in mid-priced home espresso machines is De’Longhi. If you aren’t the kind of espresso nerd who wants to make the leap to a high-end prosumer machine, De’Longhi’s will work wonderfully for you. They always have a lot of different models on sale during Amazon Prime Day including what we think of as their flagship model, the De’Longhi La Specialista Arte. It has similar features and functionality to the Breville Barista Express machines, and like the Barista Express machines, it’s very user-friendly.
This is very affordable automatic machine is a terrific model from De’Longhi, particularly for someone wants easy cappuccinos every day. Whereas the La Specialista Arte (see the next machine in this list) works mostly manually, the Magnifica Evo includes seven presets to make caffeinated drinks including espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and iced coffee. Plus, it’s a little more compact that the La Specialista Arte.
De’Longhi La Specialista Arte
As we mentioned on the last card, for first time espresso machine investors, we’d recommend a model from la Specialista Arte line. This will give you cafe-quality coffee right from the comfort of your kitchen, and you can score it this October Prime Day for 36% off.
De’Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo
The Specialista Arte espresso machines from De’Longhi have similar features and functionality to the Breville Barista Express machines. In terms of performance and price they’re pretty close, although during testing the De’Longhis made a little less mess thanks to a screw on dosing funnel and an optional step you can put under the portafilter that stops any stray splash when pulling a shot.
Nespresso Machines
Okay, okay. Nespresso machines aren’t “real” espresso machines, but the Vertuoline machines make a damn fine cup of single-serve coffee and consistently good espresso-style shots (meaning they taste great and have a lovely crema on top) using centrifuge technology. Do they make the absolute best coffee in the world? No. You’d need to be a pour-over person or get a specialty drip machine for that. But I promise it’s really good and if you’re still drinking whatever comes out of that crusty old Mr. Coffee you took to college, Nespresso’s single-origin offerings might even blow your mind.
Getting back to Nespresso’s espresso capabilities and the machines that are on sale today, allow me to draw your attention to the Nespresso Vertuo Creatista by Breville. If you don’t look too closely, it can pass for one of Breville’s “real” espresso machines, with its brushed stainless steel body and built-in steam wand that allows for steaming customization (you can choose the temperature and level of froth every time you make a drink).
Every Prime Day, a handful of other Vertuoline machines also go on sale, including the one that turned me into a Nespresso evangelist in the first place, the Nespresso Vertuo Plus. A deluxe version with a bigger water tank usually gets marked down too, but this Prime Day in addition to the Creatista, there’s a real push to sell the newer, small-space friendly Vertuo Pop and Vertuo Pop+ machines. You can also snag a deal on Wi-Fi-enabled Vertuo Next machines, which are capable of brewing up to an 18-ounce carafe of coffee from a single pod (they make those same great espresso-style shots too).

The Creatista is a newer, high-end Nespresso machine, so I’m thrilled to see it on Prime Day sale—especially because it’s what I use at home multiple times a day.

Like we already said—we know Nespressos aren’t technically espresso machines, but they do make really quality, espresso-style shots at the push of a button. This model is especially compact, and can make a regular cup of coffee as well as a single or double shot of espresso. You can get a model with a milk frother or without.
Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ by De’Longhi with Aeroccino, Mango Yellow
Add a little sunshine to your morning with this colorful Pop+ machine. This offer also includes Nespresso’s Aeorccino 3 milk frother (which makes hot and cold frothed milk at the push of a button) so you can make lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and more.
Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee and Espresso Maker by Breville
The Nespresso Vertuo Next does everything the VertuoPlus does—and it can connect to Wi-fi and brew an 18-ounce carafe of pour-over style coffee from a single Nespresso Vertuo coffee capsule. If you don’t need the Aeroccino and you want the ability to make espresso shots and brew what is basically a small pot of coffee from one pod, this is the Prime Day Nespresso deal for you.
DEAL: Nespresso Vertuo Coffee and Espresso Machine by De’Longhi
This Nespresso Vertuo is a predecessor to the VertuoPlus, with the main difference being its extra large water tank. The 54-ounce capacity (as opposed to the VertuoPlus’s 40 ounces) means you’ll need to refill it less frequently. It also holds 17 empty pods where the VertuoPlus holds 10, making it an ideal choice for people in larger households or who drink multiple cups in a day.
Bosch Espresso Machines
Bosch, perhaps you know them from dishwasher fame, is still fairly new to the world of countertop espresso machines. But they made quite a splash. The new Bosch lineup of super automatic espresso makers are the best ones we’ve tried. For the unaffiliated, “super automatic” just means that they do everything for you with one button push: grind coffee, brew coffee, and steam milk. Bosch’s machines offer the most varied beverage options, with lots of coffee drinks from around the world, and they look pretty slick to boot.
DEAL: Bosch 800 Series Verocafe with Attached Milk Container
This is Bosch’s top of the line espresso machine. It has a dedicated milk container, which froths up impressively for close to three dozen different drinks from regions all over the world. We know you’ve had a flat white, but have you had a großer brauner? We bet not.
DEAL: Bosch 300 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with Milk Express
Bosch came out with its first countertop espresso machines this year and the high end 800 series is the best automatic espresso maker we’ve used. But the super affordable 300 series can make coffee just as well. It just doesn’t have quite as many drinks on the menu. But if you just want a nice cappuccino at the push of a button in the morning, this machine will more than get the job done for you.
Philips espresso machines
Philips super automatic espresso machines are simpler machines than Bosch’s but they also tend to be more affordable, especially on Prime Day. The 3200 below has a super simple interface and can brew four different drinks that you can tweak the taste of by making them stronger or weaker depending on your taste.
Deal: Philips 3200 Series Automatic Espresso Machine
Chances are, you don’t want to wrestle with a fussy coffee machine first thing in the morning–otherwise, do you even need coffee? This fully automated model from Philips takes care of everything from grinding the beans to foaming your milk; the hardest thing you’ll have to do is choose between a cappuccino or a macchiato.
DEAL: L’OR Barista System Coffee and Espresso Machine
If you’re short on time and in need of a single-serving coffee, a coffee pod machine can save you a lot of hassle. Choose between L’OR coffee or espresso pods–the machine automatically detects which you’re using) and get on with your busy day.
Other espresso accessories
While some of these machines come with integrated milk frothers or grinders, not all of them do. If you’re dedicated, specifically, to making lattes or cappuccinos rather than espresso shots and americanos, you should either opt for a machine with a built-in steamer, or purchase a steamer separately. Get the Nespresso milk frother to go with your new Nespresso espresso machine. When it comes to grinders, we really recommend getting a high-quality grinder separate from your espresso machine—in the extensive testing we’ve done, we’ve found that no one has quite nailed the quality of our favorite grinders in a built-in model.
Nespresso Aeroccino3 Milk Frother
The Nespresso Aeroccino makes frothing milk to perfection as easy as pressing a button. It’s capable of frothing both hot and cold milk, making it a great coffee companion whether you’re a hot latte devotee or a cold foam fan.
Amzchef 8-in-1 Milk Frother and Steamer
If you want even more milk frothing options, this model from Amzchef has 8 different settings for everything from “dense” or “airy” froth to specific modes for plant-based milks.
Still using a spice grinder on your coffee beans? Take this as your sign to make an upgrade. KitchenAid’s burr grinder can handle any grind size from cold brew to espresso, and the removable hopper makes it easy to refill or swap out your coffee beans.
DEAL: Fellow Opus Conical Burr Grinder
This is our favorite coffee grinder because it combines value and performance in a way that almost nothing else can. The Opus is Fellow’s entry level grinder, but it can still grind well for everything from espresso to cold brew. It’s a single dose grinder, which means you add exactly the amount of coffee you intend to use for a brew instead of storing a whole bag of beans in the grinder’s hopper. That means that you can keep beans fresher longer by storing them in an airtight container like Fellow’s vacuum sealed Atmos.
