A 55-year-old man crossing the street overnight on Irving Park Road was first struck by a hit-and-run driver, then again by another driver who stopped and called for help, Chicago police said.
At about 1 a.m., the victim was attempting to cross the roadway in the 4100 block of West Irving Park Road when he was struck by a gray pickup truck that continued driving east and fled the scene, police said.
Another vehicle, a black Jeep, also hit the victim, but that driver stopped and called police.
The victim who suffered trauma to the body was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
No citations were written against the driver of the Jeep, but detectives are searching for the driver of the pickup truck.
