A car rear-ended a school bus in Pitt County, North Carolina, Tuesday morning. EMS took four students to a hospital for evaluation, and parents took three other students, school officials said.

The crash happened at about 8 a.m. in the Belvoir area north of Greenville, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The bus was taking students to North Pitt High School.

The school bus was driving east on Briley Road when it slowed down, and a passenger car rear-ended the bus, according to the Highway Patrol.

“There were no serious injuries to the occupants of the bus or to the driver of the passenger vehicle,” SHP said in a brief statement. 

The school system had to send another bus to the scene to pick up the other students and take them to the high school, Pitt County Schools officials said.
