Huffington Post reporter targets Israel, Hillary Clinton gaslights on heat-related deaths and more

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This tweet:

We say: Memo to HuffPo “reporter” Chris Mathias: The West repeatedly musters the words “war crimes” — unfairly when referring to Israel, because it hasn’t committed any, but not often enough when it comes to Hamas.

The terrorist group intentionally places kids (and other civilians) in harm’s way hoping they get killed, so dupes like you will blame the Jewish state.

As for Israel’s attacks, they’re perfectly permissible under international law.

That’s true even if there are civilian casualties, as long as they don’t target civilians (which is exactly what Hamas does).

This claim:

“Educators & their unions worked hard to reopen U.S. schools . . . in April 2020”

— AFT President Randi Weingarten, Monday

We say: Schools run by Weingarten’s teachers unions may have left many Americans poorly informed, but does she really think they’re dumb enough to believe that outrageous lie?

As Corey DeAngelis notes, her union threatened strikes over 2020 school-reopening plans and pushed the CDC to make it harder to reopen.

The Chicago Teachers Union actually called reopening racist and sexist (even as a board member vacationed in Puerto Rico).

No, Randi & Co. absolutely pushed closures, for their own benefit.

Kids paid a heavy price, with record learning loss.

This quip:

“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running.”

— President Biden, Tuesday

We say: Does Biden say anything true?

If he really wanted to stop Donald Trump from winning in 2024, he’d quit the race and make way for some other Democrat, who’d surely have a better shot with voters.

Overwhelming majorities of Dems and independents consistently tell pollsters they want someone else to run, and the RealClearPolitics polling average has Trump over Biden by more than two percentage points.

These stats:

“[In] Africa, Asia, Latin America . . . we probably could measure about 500,000 deaths [from heat].”

— Hillary Clinton, Monday

We say: Hillary’s number sounds laughably high. But she also fails to note how many heat-related deaths are due to climate change.

After all, people die of heat even when global temps are falling.

Nor does she note the lives saved from the cold by warmer temperatures, which far outnumber those lost.

As climate expert Bjorn Lomborg notes, global warming has actually led to fewer “overall temperature-related fatalities.”
