FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department needs the public’s help to identify the owner of a pickup truck that ran over a man on Palm Beach Boulevard and left him to die early Saturday morning.
“We are looking for a 2003-2007 Chevy Silverado single cab, dark in color, with cab lights on top and light-colored stickers on the driver and passenger side of the vehicle,” FMPD said.
Police responded to the area of 3332 Palm Beach Boulevard at around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday. Once on scene, officers found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle that fled the area. He was pronounced dead shortly after police arrived.
Police said they identified the victim who was a Hispanic male, approximately 30-40 years old. The male was wearing light blue jeans and a dark blue jacket with a plaid design on the inside. His name is not yet known because they are still trying to locate and contact his next of kin.
A named business across the street from the crash, Maxdrive Autosales, showed ABC7 video of the crash captured by their security cameras.
