Man and child dead after North Fort Myers crash

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Two people are dead, and one was arrested following a crash in North Fort Myers Sunday night.

The three-vehicle crash resulted in two fatalities.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene; roads were closed for hours as investigators gathered information.

FHP states that the driver of a Honda Minivan was traveling west on Bayshore Road before it crashed with the front of a sedan approaching Ixora Drive.

A Toyota pickup truck driving behind then crashed with the sedan.

The sedan driver was pronounced dead on scene, as well as a 3-year-old girl. The passenger and two more children aged 2 and 8 sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Pedro Aliseo Alcarez Alvarado, 22, was the driver of the minivan. He was placed under arrest for DUI Manslaughter and no driver’s license.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were uninjured.

FHP is currently investigating the crash.
