LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Christmas came early this year for one Lee County family this year, thanks to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office wrapped up toys, kitchen supplies, clothes, and bedding for Hope Sahr and her son Kylar.
“The best part of the holiday for me is the gift of giving,” said Sheriff Carmine Marceno.
The Sahrs have been through a lot this last year, they are one of many families who lost their home in Hurricane Ian. Hope Sahr stayed on the island for the storm and had to cling to a tree to survive.
“A lot of people lost a lot that day, but we still have each other,” said Sahr. “It’s been a struggle, but we wake up with a smile on our face every day because we’re still here.”
Sheriff Marceno said they were glad to help the Sahrs this holiday season.
“He’s going to always remember law enforcement and how they helped him and gave him gifts in times of need,” said Sheriff Marceno.
