Victims ID’d in Miami-Dade County helicopter crash, originating from Fort Myers

UPDATE: MIAMI-DADE, Fla. — Two people who were riding in a helicopter from Fort Myers before crashing into a canal near Miami-Dade County have been identified.

According to Miami-Dade Police, 71-year-old Clement Zanzuri and 27-year-old Jordan Ann Zanzuri were in the helicopter.

Clement died in the crash, while Jordan was taken to an area hospital.

Jordan’s current condition is unknown at this time.

MIAMI-DADE, Fla.(NBC6) — A man was killed and a woman was hospitalized after a helicopter leaving Fort Myers crashed in a canal in the Southwest area of Miami-Dade County.

The helicopter that officials confirmed flew from Fort Myers crashed near Southwest 184th Avenue and 122nd Street.

Officials say a man died and a woman is in the hospital in stable condition.

NBC6 aerials reveal fuel in water. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue divers search nearby.

According to Miami-Dade Police, they are investigating the cause of the crash.
