Police in New Westminster are not only on the search for a stolen car but also the owner’s dog who was in the vehicle at the time.

New Westminster Police Department says a black 2012 Fiat 500 was taken early Monday morning from Carnarvon Street near Blackie Street.

“What makes this theft even worse is that the complainant’s Border Collie was in the vehicle,” New West PD said on social media.

Police are now urging anyone who sees the vehicle or the brown and white dog to call 911.
