Authorities are investigating after a man and a woman were found dead Sunday evening with gunshot wounds inside an unincorporated New Lenox home, according to a bulletin from the Will County sheriff’s office.

The man, 58, and the woman, 57, have not yet been identified, according to a statement posted on the Will County sheriff’s social media. A woman called 911 after she checked on her parents and found them dead in a bedroom of a home on the 23000 block of South Spencer Road, according to the statement.

The woman told emergency workers she had not spoken to her parents for several days before she went to check on them, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the deaths and said there is no danger to other residents.
