The seafood restaurant at 2073 Market Street is expected to close on Jan. 23, after a long run near the Castro and Duboce Triangle. Eater SF reports that the decision to close comes after the building owners and co-owners couldn’t agree on a new lease agreement. Co-owner Dylan MacNiven told the outlet that “… it felt like the right time after nearly 20 years on Market Street.”

Despite the Market Street closure, Woodhouse Fish Co. fans can still enjoy a bowl of cioppino, crab cakes, and $1.25 oysters (Tuesday only) at the other San Francisco outpost at 1914 Fillmore Street.

Brothers Dylan and Rowan MacNiven, along with their dad, opened the first Woodhouse Fish Co. in 2006 to much praise. Conde Nast Traveler described the restaurant as “cozy, homey and delicious” while the San Francisco Chronicle lauded its flavorful menu as well as its nautical-themed décor, featuring a giant decorative squid. (The Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by Hearst but have separate newsrooms.)
