An 84-year-old man has died after a collision in Abbotsford Saturday afternoon, police say.

AbbyPD officers say they responded to an incident near the intersection of Old Yale Road and Maclure Road just before 1 p.m.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, police say, and the 84-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the male driver of the other vehicle was detained at the scene.

Road closures are in effect in the area while an investigation takes place. It’s unclear when roads will reopen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact AbbyPD at 604-859-5225.
