A Naperville house was left uninhabitable Friday night following a fire that caused about $100,000 in damage, authorities said.

Naperville firefighters were dispatched about 8:30 p.m. to a two-story, single-family home on Tuscany Lane and arrived to find thick, black smoke coming from the garage door and heavy fire in the kitchen area, a Naperville Fire Department report said.

Thirteen personnel, including an incident commander and incident safety officer, were called to the scene. The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes following an “aggressive interior attack” and firefighters needed another 30 minutes to make sure all hot spots were put out, the report said.

No one was injured in the blaze, the cause of which remains under investigation.

Officials from the Naperville Transportation, Engineering, and Development department declared the house uninhabitable.
