Forecast: If you liked last week’s weather…

The major influences on our weather pattern last week remain in place for this week, so there will not be much change to our backwards weather pattern that we’ve seen over the past week. Those players are a ridge of high pressure to our south and a stalled front across the southeastern United States just to our north.

Our best chance for rain will be mid-morning through lunchtime in the urban corridor, late overnight and early morning at the beaches, and near Lake Okeechobee in the afternoon and evening. Rain coverage will be between 40% – 60% all week, with Tuesday and Friday looking to be our wettest days.

High temperatures continue to be near the average of 91º, but the humidity will be higher than average, which will, in turn, keep nighttime lows above the average of 74º all week long.

Tracking the Tropics

Tropical Storm Bret is in the Atlantic, tracking west. It will stay over the open water and strengthen to a hurricane later this week before getting to the Lesser Antilles by the end of the week.
