San Diego Theatre Month: Locals can celebrate theater and other performing arts throughout the month of March with $15, $30 or $45 tickets at various venues. Broadway San Diego, City Ballet of San Diego, Mockingbird Improv, New Village Arts, Cygnet Theatre, Moxie Theatre, Lamb’s Players Theatre, SDSU School of Theatre, Television and Film and San Diego Junior Theatre are among the participating organizations this year. San Diego Latino Film Festival: The San Diego Latino Film Festival returns this weekend with three decades of history in tow and a new creative director, Maria Paula Lorgia. A selection of 70 film programs will be shared and attendees can expect appearances by special guests: Cheech Marin, Javier Bátiz, Sal Lopez and Adriana Barraza. See films from around the world in categories such as documentary and short and feature narrative. One such film is the documentary “Water for Life,” which is narrated by “Star Wars” actor Diego Luna. It tells the story of three Latin American community leaders working to protect their ancestral territory and water. Special events throughout the festival include a closing night concert and awards ceremony and a food, beer and spirits festival. Through March 24. St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival: This local parade and festival with bands, floats, bagpipes, beer and much more has been celebrating all things Irish for over 40 years. The festival includes live entertainment, food booths, a beer garden, a kids zone and crafting. Wear your best green gear to get in on the fun. Festival from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and parade at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.. Parade begins at Fifth Avenue and Laurel Street and runs north on Fifth before turning around at Upas Street and going south on Sixth Avenue. The festival is in Balboa Park along Sixth Avenue between Laurel and Nutmeg streets. Festival is $10 for adults over 21, free for ages under 21 and military. stpatsparade.org

Sham Rock St. Paddy’s Day Music and Beer Festival: Irish and Celtic rock bands will take to three different stages at this long-running Gaslamp festival. Participants can take Irish dance lessons, play games to win prizes and enjoy food and drink specials at participating restaurants. All ages welcome. 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday.Gaslamp Quarter. Circle of Art: This long-running Borrego Springs art show features juried fine art such as paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, weaving and jewelry. Long hair-cutting world record attempt: The Longhairs will host what they’re calling “The Great Cut 2024” in an attempt to break a world record for the most charitable hair donations in a 24-hour period.
