Kyndal Walker, G, Sr., St. John’s
Over four years, Walker provided St. John’s with the steadiest of presences. A confident scorer and savvy distributor, she played an increasingly important role in three straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship runs. This winter, after helping a young team to a conference three-peat, the Maryland signee helped topple Sidwell Friends in the D.C. State Athletic Association title game. One of the most reliable and unshakable players to come through the area in some time, she averaged 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Nyla Brooks, F, Jr., Bishop Ireton
In a breakout year for the Cardinals, the playmaking forward averaged 24.4 points and 6.3 rebounds.
Kendall Dudley, F, Sr., Sidwell Friends
A versatile playmaker on the wing, Dudley averaged 15 points and eight rebounds as the Quakers continued to dominate the Independent School League. She is signed with UCLA.
Nia Green, G, Sr., Hammond
Averaging 17 points and eight rebounds, Green led a determined Bears squad that finished undefeated and earned the Howard County program’s first state title since 2002.
Madisen McDaniel, G, Sr., Bishop McNamara
The South Carolina signee closed out a sterling four-year career with the Mustangs by posting 18 points, five assists and four steals per game for the Maryland Private Schools state champs.
Sadie Shores, G, Sr., Woodgrove
In her second stint with the Wolverines, the playmaking ballhandler averaged 18 points as she helped lead the Loudoun County program to its first state title.
Zania Socka-Nguemen, F, Sr., Sidwell Friends
Sidwell’s second UCLA signee, the towering Socka-Nguemen had a breakout campaign this winter. She posted 12.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, giving the Quakers an unstoppable force inside.
Talayah Walker, G, Sr., Good Counsel
The Penn State signee has been a staple of the Falcons’ program. In her last go-round, she averaged 19 points and six rebounds against elite competition.
Laura Williams, F, Sr., Paul VI
In her final season with the Panthers, the Southern California signee posted 21 points, nine rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game on her way to earning WCAC player of the year honors.
Madison Williams, G, Sr., Oxon Hill
Williams did a little bit of everything for the Lady Clippers in her celebrated career. As a senior, she totaled 17.5 points, five rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.9 steals per game as Oxon Hill reached the state semifinals.
There are distinct styles, apparatuses that even the best teams cannot top and, well, Fisher’s Wolverines were perhaps the best example of that — riding an up-tempo offense all the way to the school’s first state title. Since he took over the program in 2020-21, the Wolverines have gone 93-7; this year, they broke the Virginia single-season three-point record and scored 75.4 points per game. All but one of their wins came by double digits.
