Just days after the town of Brentwood voted to open a brand new Costco, another well-regarded franchise announced that it would be expanding to the suburb.
A new Jollibee is scheduled to open this Sunday, June 25, in the booming East Bay town. The news was first reported by KRON4. It will be the second new Jollibee in the Bay Area this year. The first opened in Fairfield in May.
The popular Filipino fast food chain is opening in Brentwood at 6371 Lone Tree Way in the Empire Crossings shopping complex. This will be the 10th Bay Area Jollibee and third in the East Bay.
The fast food joint is known for its crispy Chickenjoy fried chicken and peach mango hand pie, among other items. But the best part is that the grand opening will feature some giveaways for customers.
The first 50 customers to spend $25 on Sunday will be eligible to win a free fried chicken sandwich each month for the next 12 months. The following day, June 26, the first 100 patrons who spend at least $25 will win a Jollibee bucket hat.
Jollibee started in 1975 as an ice cream parlor in Manila by Tony Tan Caktiong. In 1978, the family-run company pivoted completely from ice cream to hot meals. There are around 1,500 Jollibee locations worldwide and food media outlet Eater named it the “best chain fried chicken in America” in 2022.
