A former RCMP officer with the Richmond detachment has lost an appeal of his conviction, related to exposing himself to children in Vancouver.

Court documents show Andrew Seangio was looking to appeal “seven counts of wilfully committing an indecent act” and “three counts of exposing himself to a person under the age of 16,” alleging there were “multiple errors in the judge’s charge to the jury.”

Documents show Seangio would drive around the area of a private school in Shaughnessy just as kids were leaving for the day between 2018 and 2019.

Seangio was handed 18 months in prison for repeatedly exposing himself to young girls in the Vancouver neighbourhood.

In addition to his conviction in B.C., Seangio is facing more than 30 charges of voyeurism and sexual assault in Ottawa.

In July 2020, it was reported that Seangio had turned himself in to Vancouver police, following the charges being laid in Ontario.

The Ottawa offences allegedly occurred between 2011 and 2018, with police in the city saying Seangio was living there at the time of some of the reported instances.

The investigation in Canada’s capital began after the Vancouver Police Department contacted Ottawa police in January 2020.
