Georgetown Prep senior Rúa Kimotho couldn’t have known it in the moment, but his mind-set entering his final hole Wednesday aligned perfectly with what was necessary to win the individual title at the Interstate Athletic Conference golf tournament.
A shotgun start at P.B. Dye Golf Club in Ijamsville had Kimotho finishing on No. 16, a 479-yard par-5. At the tee box, he told himself one thing. “My whole [mind-set] was not to try and force anything,” he said.
