As afternoon turned into evening Thursday on the campus of St. Albans, a growing crowd slowly made its way toward the tennis court featuring the No. 2 doubles matchup. There, Bulldogs duo Mert Uyumazturk and Alexandru Dragoi were locked in a battle with Landon’s Caleb Wade and Soli Ravitz.

The crowd knew Uyumazturk and Dragoi could clinch an Interstate Athletic Conference title with a victory, and their eagerness gave the match an added intensity. It ended with Uyumazturk pounding a serve down the middle for an ace, earning St. Albans a 4-1 team victory over the Bears and the program’s fourth consecutive conference title.
