The following student-athletes have been selected to The Washington Post’s 2024 All-Met team for girls’ outdoor track and field:
Indie Wallace-Persaud, Jr., Jackson-Reed
Before the season, Wallace-Persaud and Coach Tia Clemmons discussed the junior’s goals. Wallace-Persaud said securing All-Met Athlete of the Year honors was at the top of the list. She did that by dominating the D.C. State Athletic Association championships, winning the 100 meters (11.94 seconds), 200 meters (24.35) and long jump (18 feet 11½ inches). She also split 55 seconds in the 4×400 at Penn Relays.
Kennedy Brown, Fr., Bullis
Brown immediately established herself on the Bulldogs’ record-breaking 4×400 relay team.
Alysa Carrigan, Sr., Tuscarora
The Princeton commit dominated the high jump at the Virginia championship meets throughout her four-year career and broke her meet record this spring (5 feet 8½ inches).
Jasmine Cook, Jr., Archbishop Carroll
Cook won the 100 at the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championships, clocking in at 12.03 seconds.
Cohren Corbin, Jr., North Point
Corbin was unbeatable in the 200 this year, winning at 11 events. Her top time was 23.91 seconds.
Caroline Elliott, So., South Lakes
She was the anchor on a 4×800 relay team that won the Virginia Class 6 championship in 8 minutes 59.88 seconds.
Reagan Exley, Sr., Potomac School
Exley was a double winner at the Independent School League championships, securing victories in the 800 and 1,600.
Nadia Lytle, Jr., School Without Walls
Lytle went undefeated against local competition in the shot put. She threw 42 feet at the DCSAA championship.
Payton Payne, Jr., Bullis
The electric junior sprinted to a personal best of 23.56 in the 200 meters at the Beach Run Invitational in April in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Morgan Rothwell, Jr., Bullis
Finishing behind only Exley in the 800 at the ISL meet, Rothwell finished in 2:11.61.
Sydney Sutton, Jr., Bullis
At the ISL championships, she won the 200 (24.50) and the 400 (54.56).
Marella Virmani, So., River Hill
A repeat first-team selection, Virmani anchored River Hill’s state champion 4×800 relay team.
Molly Weithman, Sr., Bishop O’Connell
Weithman broke five minutes in the 1,600 three times. She also set school records in the 1,600 (4:56.16) and the 3,200 (10:34.12).
Cymia Yourish, Jr., St. Johns
A versatile runner, Yourish thrived in hurdling events and the 200 and 400.
Allen helmed a resurgent Arundel team, leading the Wildcats to a dominant win in the Maryland 3A championship. Arundel’s relay teams were strong all season, clinching top state times in the 4×100 and the 4×200.
