Two people sustained life-threatening injuries Sunday morning when they were thrown from a single-car rollover crash on a residential road in Fallbrook, officials said.

A third occupant of the car was examined at the scene but declined medical care, North County Fire Protection District Capt. John Choi said.

The crash was reported at 10:50 a.m. on South Hill Avenue near Merida Drive, Choi said. It was not immediately clear how the wreck occurred, but the sedan rolled at least once.

The two people thrown from the car were airlifted by medics to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, Choi said. Their ages and other information about them was not available.
