Jeremy Allen White is very much still working on The Bear, the award-winning FX drama set in a Chicago restaurant, but he’s already thinking about playing “The Boss.”
The actor is expected to play Bruce Springsteen in a movie about the making of Springsteen’s acclaimed album Nebraska. It will be based on the 2023 book Deliver Me From Nowhere by Warren Zanes.
At the premiere of TV series’ third season on Tuesday, White was asked if he saw himself doing some of his own singing.
“We’re gonna try, we’re gonna try our best,” White told Variety. “Yeah, we’re gonna try.”

White also mentioned that he hasn’t had direct contact with the music legend, and there’s a very specific reason for that.
“We’ve, like, communicated a little bit through some other, some other people, but… I hope this still all comes together,” White said. “We have some timing stuff to work out, and I’m like trying to have a bit of, I think, my own process with it before, before meeting the man, too.”
So he isn’t ready to meet him quite yet.
“I wanna try and, yeah, have an understanding, so that when I meet him, you know, I’ll have a bit of confidence somewhere in me to stand there,” White said, before adding again that he hopes it works out.
Season 3 of The Bear, his Emmy-winning show which costars Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, premieres Wednesday, June 26 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Hulu.
