Two people have been arrested after a late-night shooting in Chilliwack sent one person to hospital on Wednesday, the RCMP says.

The Chilliwack RCMP says the shooting happened just after 10 p.m. in the area of Avalon Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a man with “visible injuries who was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.”

“As a result of the quick coordinated response, two suspects were identified and taken into custody,” Mounties said.

Police say that the initial investigation suggests the shooting was a “targeted, isolated incident.”

Mounties are now urging anyone with information about the shooting, or anyone with dash-cam footage of the area, to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file 2024-32563.
