An 83-year-old-year-old pedestrian who was struck while he was walking across an intersection in Oceanside died this week at a hospital, according to police.

Henry Broncy, of Oceanside, was walking across the street outside the marked crosswalk at Rancho Del Oro Drive and Via Rancho when he was struck by a vehicle driven around 7:30 a.m. on July 29, Oceanside police Sgt. Clint Bussey said in a news release.

Broncy was taken to a hospital after suffering major injuries. Police were informed on Monday that he died.

The driver that struck Broncy remained at the scene and cooperated with police, Bussey said. He did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Investigators asked anyone with information about the collision to call Officer Jose Gomez at (760) 435-4952.
