Independence Blue Cross (IBX) is now accepting applications for its 2025
Clinical Care Innovation Grants. These grants foster innovative approaches
to care delivery that can help improve the health and well-being of IBX
members and the community at large. Health systems and large specialty
groups that are in the Independence network and have a value-based contract
are encouraged to
apply for a 2025 Clinical Care Innovation Grant.
“We are always looking for ways to deliver better outcomes for our members
at a more affordable cost. Clinical Care Innovation Grants are a way for us
to invest in innovators in our value-based network providers who are trying
to do just that. We’re supporting some of the most promising ‘what ifs’
proposed by our area’s major health systems and large specialty groups. It’s
exciting to see the grants come to life, grow, and ultimately improve the
health of the communities we serve,” said

Health systems and large specialty groups applying for a Clinical Care
Innovation Grant should submit ideas that focus on new and innovative
approaches to care that do the following:
• Improve quality of care, patient experience, access to care, and/or lower
health care costs• Improve health equity
• Test a new care model, including models that enable better primary care,
bring care closer to home, integrate behavioral health, and use technology
in a new way
Up to five Clinical Care Innovation Grants will be awarded in 2025 with an
average of $200,000 per grant. Grant applications are due by September 26,
2024. Each entity is permitted up to three submissions. The submissions will
be evaluated internally by an IBX review committee. Providers whose
submissions are accepted will be invited to present their idea(s) on
November 21, 2024. Winners will be notified by November 22, 2024.
