Leodalis De Vries’ roll isn’t slowing one bit.
The 17-year-old shortstop hit his 10th homer of the season on Wednesday, leading low Single-A Lake Elsinore to a 9-7 win at Stockton.
De Vries also walked, singled, stole a base and scored two runs.
The switch-hitting De Vries is hitting .235/.358/.436 with 34 RBIs and 12 steals. He has a .934 OPS in 33 games in the second half after posting a .648 OPS in his first 33 games of the season.
Former USD infielder Jack Costello (.925 OPS) drove in three runs on two hits, including his first home run. Costello was selected in the 10th round in July.
Second baseman Brandon Butterworth (1.125 OPS) went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, a steal and two runs scored.
Right fielder Braedon Karpathios (.718 OPS) drove in two runs on three hits.
Lake Elsinore is 53-49.

RHP Dwayne Matos (2.57 ERA) recorded his second save with 2⅓ scoreless innings.
