LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A thief is caught on camera stealing a car from a Lehigh Acres family driveway.
When Toby Natoli looked at the driveway on Clayton Avenue this morning, broken glass covered where his new car once sat. His mom, Kimberly Natoli, says it was a graduation and birthday present. A”2020 Kia Sol for my old soul,” she calls it.
It happened hours after he got off his shift volunteering at a local food pantry.
According to ring doorbell footage, around 2 a.m., someone smashed the windows, then hopped into the car and drove off. They only flash a light quickly to avoid setting off the ring doorbell sensor.
“So this is somebody who knows what they’re doing. They knew where the cameras were. They knew how to avoid them,” says Kimberly.
The criminal then backs out of the driveway, hits one of the family’s other cars, and speeds away.
Kimberly says it teaches her family an important lesson.
“You could do everything right, and the bad guys are still going to do bad things. It’s not what happens to you. It’s how you deal with it.”
