SusieCakes celebrated a grand opening in The Forum Carlsbad in August. The nostalgic bakeshop offers home-style sweets like old-fashioned layer cake by the giant slice, cookies and cupcakes.
“We are thrilled to open our newest location at the Forum Carlsbad, a vibrant hub for shopping, dining, and community gatherings throughout the year,” said SusieCakes Founder and CEO Susan Sarich in a news release. “This location is a perfect fit for our bakery, and I’m excited to bring our delicious custom cakes, cupcakes and other treats to this beautiful space.”
Sarich opened her first bakeshop in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2006, inspired by her memories of baking alongside her grandmothers. SusieCakes has since expanded to locations throughout California and nationwide, including shops in La Costa Town Square in Carlsbad and Carmel Valley’s One Paseo.
The menu includes a variety of classic American desserts, every treat made entirely on-site and from scratch.
“SusieCakes’ dedication to quality and their heartfelt approach to baking make them a perfect fit for our community,” saidTrish Pruitt, vice president of marketing for Northwood Retail, who owns The Forum Carlsbad in a news release. “We know our shoppers will love the delicious desserts and the warm, inviting atmosphere that SusieCakes brings.”
