McDonald’s Is Reportedly Releasing a Crocs Happy Meal

Although consumers nationwide might be lamenting the higher price of fast food in recent months, one category in which McDonald’s can always convince its customers to spend money is the Happy Meal. Because it comes with specialty packaging, a main, a side, a drink, a dessert, and a toy all in one, its presentation screams “value” to anyone seeking a deal, and the internet hype machine has ensured that adults will pay $12 for, say, a Cactus Plant Flea Market box containing a McDonald’s character figurine.

Now, hot on the heels of the recent Collector’s Meal featuring nostalgia-themed tumblers, McDonald’s will reportedly be bringing another fun and flashy menu item into the mix: the Crocs Happy Meal, containing a miniature Croc slip-on shoe keychain.

This announcement hasn’t yet come from McDonald’s itself. The Instagram account @snackolator posted the unconfirmed news with an image depicting a Happy Meal box and 10 different miniature Crocs keychain designs, each of them McDonald’s-themed in some way. The so-called Crocs Clips feature imagery of the Golden Arches, french fries, Happy Meal boxes, McNuggets, and similar iconography. “Each one comes in the cutest little Crocs box,” reads the post’s caption in part.

“A big disclaimer that it’s possible the designs (and number) could differ in the U.S., but the Happy Meal is definitely coming to the USA,” @snackolator writes. The text within the image simply says, “Coming Soon!”

McDonald’s declined to comment on the potential upcoming release, but the Crocs Clips are already available with Happy Meals in multiple other countries. This TikTok video from Singapore, for example, shows an unboxing.

This is hardly McDonald’s first collaboration with the Crocs brand. Back in November 2023, the two behemoth brands announced a line of “clogs, sandals, charms, and socks” that pay homage to some of McDonald’s most enduring characters: Grimace, Birdie, and Hamburglar — plus a pair of shoes depicting the Golden Arches themselves with Jibbitz shaped like the most popular menu items. While a classic Crocs clog retails for $49.99, the tricked-out McDonald’s shoes range from $70-75.

One thing that some Instagram users commented below the @snackolator post is that, unlike many beloved Happy Meal toys of the past, there’s not really any evident way you can play with a Crocs keychain. This TikTok video shows a pad of stickers that can be applied to the keychains like Jibbitz charms on a real Crocs shoe, which is admittedly a little interactive. Beyond that, I suppose you can slip them on your fingers and walk around, like those finger skateboards of yore.
