Shakira made it clear that she won’t tolerate disrespect, after appearing to catch a rude fan filming up her skirt at a Miami club.

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was spotted taking the stage at the LIV nightclub this weekend, where she seemed to be filming a video with Winnie Harlow, Anitta, Lele Pons, and Danna while celebrating her forthcoming single, “Soltera.”

In fan-captured footage of the incident, Shakira is seen smiling, laughing, and swinging her hips as fans cheer her on. But the fun moment took a turn when the singer appeared to focus her attention on someone near the stage.

In the clip, she responds to their unseen actions by waving a finger, telling them to stop what they’re doing. She also points to her eye and back to them as if to say, “I see you.”

The singer-songwriter then smoothed down her dress, making sure she was covered. After a while, she resumed dancing, but the culprit may have continued their actions because Shakira still seemed frustrated moments later when she indicated for the music to end and walked offstage.

Representatives for Shakira declined Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment, and the singer has yet to address the incident on social media.

Despite her silence, fans have been outspoken about expressing their outrage at the individual who reportedly made the event uncomfortable.

“People are GROSS,” wrote on X user, while another commented, “What happened to consent?”

One disrespectful fan aside, Shakira is continuing an exciting year for her music. This past March marked the release of her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. A month after the album’s release, Shakira announced her 2024 Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which is set to kick off its North America leg in Palm Desert, Calif., on Nov. 2.

This year also saw Spanish authorities end their investigation into alleged tax fraud committed by the singer. In May, prosecutors asked a Spanish court to drop the criminal case against the Colombian singer, citing “a lack of evidence,” which the court then agreed to.

The case was first opened in July, with prosecutors alleging the singer used an offshore company to evade paying the tax office up to €6.6m ($7.2 million) in 2018. Shakira reportedly settled the debt a month later. She separately settled another tax fraud case with the Spanish government six months prior.
