Rancho Days will return to Rancho Santa Fe on Oct. 10-13, a bi-annual tradition that celebrates Rancho Santa Fe’s history and brings the community together with many local organizations taking part.

Relax and stretch out to start the big week with a complimentary yoga session on the lawn at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe from 9-10 a.m.

Did you know? The Rancho Santa Fe Library turns 60 this year. Before there was a library, Rancho Santa Fe’s reading interests were served by a county bookmobile that visited several afternoons a month. There was a small lending library at Bill and Emma’s Café, a soda fountain on Paseo Delicias. The current library site was sold to the Guild for $1 by Roger Rowe, the superintendent of the Rancho Santa Fe School District and now the school’s namesake.
Guests will be treated to a live music performance starting at 8 p.m. on The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe’s front lawn.

Did you know? The Lilian Rice statue in the park was placed in 2021, perched on a rock in front of the civic center she envisioned in the 1920s. Rice is not only a local icon, she is also a trailblazer for women in architecture: Rice was one of the first women (and 10th in California) to earn a degree in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.

- Country Friends Tea Party
To celebrate Rancho Days, the Country Friends will host Tea at the Shop at 10:30 a.m. Guests can sip tea, enjoy sweets from Dipped Confections, and shop and mingle with local Ranch residents.

The Rancho Santa Fe Senior Center will hold Music in the Garden from 2-4 p.m. The event features music from High Tide Society, a local band paying tribute to the smooth hit songs of the ’70s and early ’80s, and delicious hors d’ oeuvres served in the Senior Center Garden. The Rancho Santa Fe Historical Society will host the Fandango street party from 5-9 pm. out in front of the society building on Via de Santa Fe. Guests can enjoy live music by The Harmony Grove Band, a full taco bar, margaritas, wine and beer ($5 cash bar). Adults are $30 children 12 and under are $15. Advanced tickets on sale at RSFHS.org and will be available at the door.

Sunday, Oct. 13
The Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District will be serving up pancakes from 9 a.m. to noon at their administrative offices in Cielo Village. Enjoy pancakes and Caffe Positano coffee as well as fire engine and equipment displays, station tours and live fire demonstrations. Guests will even have a chance to open up a nozzle and spray the fire hose. The breakfast is a $5 donation per plate.

Did you know? In response to a disastrous wildfire in 1943 that burned from Rancho Bernardo through Rancho Santa Fe and out to the coast, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors supported the formation of the local, all-volunteer Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District on October 14, 1946.
The Rancho Santa Fe Association-owned Osuna Ranch will offer pony rides starting at noon.
