Who’s running for Congress? Meet the candidates for San Diego County districts with our Q&As – San Diego Union-Tribune

To help inform voters, the San Diego Union-Tribune asked all the candidates running to represent San Diego County residents in Congress a series of questions about these and other top issues.

Here’s who responded, and what they told us about their plans, priorities and positions. Their written answers have been lightly edited for clarity and style.

48th Congressional District:

Stephen Houlahan, Democrat and registered nurse

Darrell Issa, Republican and incumbent, did not respond

49th Congressional District:

Matt Gunderson, Republican and car dealership owner

Mike Levin, Democrat and incumbent

50th Congressional District:

Peter Bono, Republican and retired Navy technician

Scott Peters, Democrat and incumbent

51st Congressional District:

Sara Jacobs, Democrat and incumbent

Bill Wells, Republican and El Cajon mayor

52nd Congressional District:

Juan Vargas, Democrat and incumbent, declined to participate

Justin Lee, Republican and incumbent, did not respond
