A bicyclist died Saturday from injuries suffered after he apparently lost control and crashed in Del Mar, according to sheriff’s officials.
Deputies found the rider lying on the ground about 10 a.m. with serious injuries on Jimmy Durante Boulevard near Grand Avenue.
After deputies and paramedics tried to perform life-saving measures, the man was transported by ambulance to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he later died. The victim’s name and other details have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
At this time, deputies say it appears no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
