Fire breaks out in Hacienda Heights

A brush fire erupted in Hacienda Heights, threatening Los Angeles County’s eastside neighborhood.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a call in the 17200 block of Colima Road Friday afternoon.

The fire has since been contained by firefighters, but the fire spread to about five acres. Officials have not released any numbers regarding total damage caused by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
