Stevie Nicks had an idea for another season of ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’

Stevie Nicks has an idea for more Daisy Jones & the Six, the 2023 Prime Video limited series based on the book by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

The series finale saw the band split up after one final concert. Sam Claflin’s Billy, who was inspired by Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, and Nicks-ish Daisy (Riley Keough), were this close to becoming a true couple. Daisy ended up sending Billy back to his wife, however.

“I wish that it could go into what if … had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that I always hoped that Lindsey and I would make,” Nicks told Rolling Stone in a story published Thursday. “That would make a fantastic second season. I talked to [executive producer] Reese [Witherspoon] and Riley about it, and they loved the idea, but everybody’s so busy.”

Witherspoon was an executive producer on the project adapted from Reid’s 2019 book of the same name. It was a Reese’s Book Club pick.

“Riley’s on her way to becoming a big movie star,” Nicks added. “But maybe one of these days, they’ll do it. Until I saw Daisy Jones & The Six, I would have never thought it was even possible to emulate our life.”

Nicks and Buckingham, who first dated in the ’70s, had an infamously stormy relationship. Fleetwood Mac in general had a tumultuous, though hit-filled run, before the 2022 death of member Christine McVie.

Nicks explained to Vulture in October 2023 that she saw no reason to move forward with the iconic band.

The series received mixed reviews, with EW’s Darren Franich, for one, writing, “The 10-part miniseries…starts absurd, turns sneakily profound, and lands in schmaltz so soapy I had to wipe tears from my eyes.” Sophie Butcher of Empire Magazine wrote, “Solid, if slightly underwhelming – but Riley Keough’s star quality leaps off the screen, and there is many a magical musical moment.” Audiences were a bit more receptive overall, giving the series an 8.1 score out of 10 on IMDb and an 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Prime Video presented Daisy Jones & The Six as a limited series, however, and the chances of getting the band back together don’t look good.
