As much as we love cooking, it’s always nice when we can find a way to save time on food prep. Nearly every chef we’ve spoken to says the key to saving time in the kitchen is an organized, optimized workstation. Decluttering your cabinets and leaning into mise en place is a great way to start, but if you really want to take your efficiency to the next level, experts recommend a better way to store your cooking oil

You don’t need to invest in a fancy olive oil dispenser or cruet — instead, outfit your home like a professional kitchen with these expert-approved squeeze bottles, just $3 apiece at Amazon.

Brightfrom 16-Ounce Squeeze Bottles, 2-Pack

According to chef Gigi Gaggero, award-winning cookbook author and former academic director at Le Cordon Bleu, “These bottles keep ingredients impeccably organized and easily accessible, enabling chefs to quickly find the perfect flavor without the chaos of traditional containers.”

Brightfrom’s 16-ounce squeeze bottles allow you to aim and dispense oils with precision. When they arrive, the nozzles are completely sealed, so you have to use a needle to poke a hole or scissors to slice off the top. In other words, you get to decide the size of the spout and, thus, how quickly the oil pours out. Use a needle for a drizzle of oil and scissors for more viscous sauces and condiments.

This Brightfrom set has two 16-ounce BPA-free plastic bottles. Unlike most olive oil bottles made from glass or stiff plastic, these squeeze bottles are flexible enough to grip and pour with one hand. Each bottle has a leakproof cap with a gasket seal and removable red tip, so the oil won’t drip or spill when not in use. When you’re ready to sauté, sear, or fry, all you have to do is pop off the cap to have a reliable supply of cooking oil within reach.

Buying oil in bulk is more cost-effective, but oversized containers make it easy to accidentally overpour. By pouring it into these squeeze bottles, you can dispense the right amount of oil every time. Plus, as Gaggero points out, “Many squeeze bottles come with tight-fitting lids, safeguarding freshness and preventing spills” over time.

They’re also versatile. While great for oils, the bottles come in handy for a wide variety of other ingredients, including vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, mustard, and any other condiment you tend to use often.

Don’t let the $3 price tag fool you: These bottles were made to last. The plastic is durable, and the bottles are reusable, refillable, and easy to wash by hand between uses. One happy shopper called them “An essential component of any true chef’s kitchen,” and we couldn’t agree more.

With the holidays on the horizon, now’s the perfect time to invest in time-saving kitchen tools. If you’re ready to make a simple yet game-changing swap, head to Amazon to snag the wallet-friendly, time-saving squeeze bottles chefs swear by.
