Journalism is fundamental to democracy, and it’s critical that the next generation be informed.

The “Spectrum News Challenge” is designed to foster news literacy and celebrate the pursuit of higher education.

This year on the “Spectrum News Challenge,” we are celebrating and testing the knowledge of amazing student leaders taking part in high school organizations and clubs across the United States. Sixteen teams will start the competition. But only one will be crowned the “Spectrum News Challenge” champion and take home the prize of $15,000.

In the first episode, Scholar Athletes from New York competed with Computer Scientists from North Carolina.
