The artist’s Eras Tour concert in Santa Clara drew a crowd of over 70,000 people, including celebrities such as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and supermodel Gigi Hadid. The show, which features over three hours of songs from the many “eras” of Swift’s music, is known to be lengthy. Friday night was no exception.

Jeff Kravitz/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights ManaThe stadium’s 11 p.m. curfew, mandated by an ordinance that permits weekend events at the stadium to run no later than 11 p.m., was ignored as Swift began performing her first surprise song, “Right Where You Left Me.”
In 2021, the Santa Clara City Council voted to allow the stadium to host five non-NFL events that go until 11 p.m. Neighbors had complained about noise issues for years until the curfew was instated, and now the stadium’s 10 p.m. weeknight and 11 p.m. weekend cutoff has made rule-breakers of several popular artists: In 2017, U2 and Coldplay ignored the stadium’s curfew during their respective performances, and Beyoncé has broken the curfew twice, once in 2016 and again in 2018. Ed Sheeran even canceled a performance there because of the rule.
Swift’s concert went until about 11:40 p.m. She is scheduled to play another sold-out show at the stadium tonight.
