Happy Sunday to you!
Today is setting up very similar to what we saw yesterday across SWFL.
We start the morning leaning on the mostly sunny side with a few clouds overhead with temperatures ranging in the upper 70s.
A few showers and storms will be lingering offshore and we won’t rule out a few sprinkles moving onshore.
By lunchtime, the seabreeze will kick up showers and storms and move them inland. It won’t be a widespread washout but some gardens will get a healthy drink through the evening!
Highs will approach the mid 90s with heat index values from 105 to 110+. A heat advisory has been issued for all of SWFL through this evening. Use caution outside today!
Tracking the tropics
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is only tracking one area in the central tropical Atlantic that has a high chance to develop into a tropical depression early next week.
This system will ride high pressure in the Atlantic and will stay away from SWFL and the US, staying out over water. Something to just keep our eyes on.
The next name on the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane list is Emily.
