Our inland locations are dealing with heat index values between 110º and 115º Tuesday afternoon, but that’s also where some rain and thunderstorms are popping up to cool you off.
With a ridge of high pressure or fair weather centered in the east-central Gulf of Mexico, expect whatever rain that does form to move slowly or even stay stationary. The outflow boundaries from these areas of rain will cool a few locations off this evening but may interact with the warmer Gulf waters overnight to create a few new showers or thunderstorms. Lows will drop only to bear 80º for the urban corridor, upper 70s inland and close to 85º at the beaches. That’s miserable even by our summer standards.
I don’t see any major changes in the weather setup for Wednesday, so don’t expect any major changes in the sensible weather for Wednesday. Inland heat index values in the afternoon will be between 110º and 115º once again, so if you must be outside find shaded areas to rest and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Tracking the Tropics:
There are no areas of interest in the Atlantic Basin, which means we aren’t expecting tropical development over the next week.
