In a move to entice long-time Burger King fans, the fast food chain brought back a chicken sandwich from the 1980s.

The Italian Chicken Sandwich, which was first introduced in 1988 along with two other regional specialty sandwiches, consists of the famous breaded, long chicken patty topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, all on a torpedo-shaped roll reminiscent of a hoagie. The promotional item quietly returned to menus this month at participating restaurants nationwide, but only for an unknown and limited amount of time.

On its return to menus, the Italian Chicken Sandwich will cost $5.29. To upgrade to a combo meal, which comes with a small drink and small fries, the meal costs $7.79.

This retro-inspired move is a slight change for Burger King of late. Recently, it opted to partner with big budget Hollywood projects and create new takes on classic items, such as the red-bunned Whopper for the May release of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” The revival of classic items is something perfected by Taco Bell, as it has recently brought back the Enchirito, the Beefy Crunch Burrito and items from the spicy volcano menu.
