A woman who was found shot inside a West Englewood home early Friday morning after police saw a small fire outside has been identified, officials said.
Racquel A. Adams, 32, of the 6400 block of South Damen Avenue, was pronounced dead at 1:22 a.m. Friday at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Officers on duty early Friday morning saw a small fire outside a West Englewood home and later found Adams fatally shot inside, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 12:45 a.m., officers spotted a fire outside a home in the 6400 block of South Damen Avenue, and when they checked inside they discovered Adams unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of the head, police said.
No one was in custody for the shooting, and detectives were investigating.
