At least Britney Spears’ third divorce won’t cost her anything. The prenup she and Sam Asghari signed will also prevent him from making a buck off discussing their 14-month marriage.
The 29-year-old actor and fitness instructor, who filed for divorce on Wednesday, will receive no payout or spousal support from the 41-year-old pop star if they ultimately divorce, insiders with direct knowledge of the agreement told TMZ.
The agreement also includes an “extensive confidentiality clause” meant to keep Asghari from publicly discussing their relationship. The news comes amid Asghari denying allegations he’s exploiting Spears, who he married in June 2022.
The source’s comments are in line with TMZ’s report last summer that the couple’s prenup was ironclad, thereby protecting the entirety of Spears’ reported $60 million.
That hasn’t stopped Asghari’s lawyer from seeking spousal support in the divorce filing — which cites “irreconcilable differences” — as the outlet previously reported.
If Asghari gets his way financially, he would no longer have to abide by the confidentiality clause.
Sources have said it won’t come to that though, noting Spears would sooner settle for “several hundred thousand dollars” and require Asghari to sign a new NDA. Under the new agreement, Asghari would be forced to return the money if he were to blab.
Asghari’s filing comes after he allegedly accused the “Toxic” singer of cheating with an employee, which led to a massive fight and saw Asghari leaving the couple’s shared home.
On Thursday, Asghari finally broke his silence on the much-reported split.
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote in his Instagram Story. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”
Spears was previously married for three years to Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, Jayden and Sean. Her first marriage with Jason Alexander, was annulled 55 hours after the Las Vegas nuptials.
