The St. John’s and Whitman girls’ soccer programs finished in the top two of The Washington Post’s postseason rankings each of the past two years.

This season, the back-to-back Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and Maryland 4A champions return the majority of their starting lineups and have eyes on potential three-peats.

“We really were a young team that’s really grown together,” St. John’s Coach Allison Diaz said. “There’s a lot of trust within the group, they feel confident in the person next to them, and it’s a rare thing to experience.”
