Ahead of its opening in September, Disneyland has released a first look at the brand-new menu for Tiana’s Palace, the New Orleans Square restaurant that is replacing its longtime French Market. It’s the first new restaurant for the park in years; the last batch of new arrivals was in 2019 when Oga’s Cantina, Docking Bay 7 and Ronto Roasters opened in Galaxy’s Edge.
The Tiana’s Palace menu remains true to its New Orleans inspiration. Gone are the meatloaf, jambalaya and roasted half chicken, replaced instead by a number of dishes referenced in “The Princess and the Frog.”
There are three options for gumbo: a white bean and okra plant-based gumbo, a chicken and andouille sausage gumbo and the house gumbo, which features braised chicken and sausage. A New Orleans classic, the muffuletta, highlights the sandwich menu, with housemade olive tapenade and toasted sesame seed bread. There’s also a beef po-boy and shrimp and grits. Among the sides offered are cornbread, baked mac and cheese, red beans and rice, coleslaw and grits. A “Cajun spice half chicken” with chicory barbecue sauce replaces the French Market’s roast chicken option.
For dessert, of course, is a specialty beignet. While classic Mickey-shaped beignets will continue to be served next door at the Mint Julep window, Tiana’s Palace will serve a beignet stuffed with lemon icebox pie filling. On top, there’s a lemon glaze.
