We are almost in the clear here for SWFL. As a few outer rainbands are still passing through, we are monitoring for flooding as water levels will slowly start to recede.
Our radar estimates over 6 inches of rain in portions of DeSoto, Charlotte, and Lee County— including Cape Coral. While these areas did need the rain, too much at once is never actually good.
If possible, try to stay inside and not drive until tomorrow. This helps emergency personnel clean up and keeps you from getting your car stuck in flooded roadways.
As we go through the evening, we will see less rain reaching Southwest Florida and the wind will start to die down. We will continue to have gusts near 25-35 MPH until it gets dark. While it will be drier overnight, we have more rain on the way for Thursday.
